HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Johnnie W. Sykes on the occasion of his 86th birthday on August 4, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Johnnie Sykes was born on August 4, 1929 and has been a resident of St. Anne for many years; throughout his life, he has been an invaluable asset to the greater St. Anne community through his strong advocacy for family and his great support for the institution of family; and

WHEREAS, Johnnie Sykes is a church elder and an active member of Fair Haven Church of God in Christ in Kankakee, where he attends morning worship every Sunday; and

WHEREAS, Johnnie Sykes will be honored at a birthday celebration with his immediate family and church family on August 1, 2015 at the Kankakee County Historical Society's Centennial Room; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Johnnie W. Sykes on the occasion of his 86th birthday and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Johnnie Sykes as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
