HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the members of Franklin Park Professional Firefighters Association Local 1526 on the occasion of the Local's 50th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Franklin Park Professional Firefighters Association Local 1526 is an affiliate member of the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, On September 28, 1964, 12 firefighters employed by the Village of Franklin Park Fire Department declared their intent to form a union; and

WHEREAS, When Franklin Park Professional Firefighters Association Local 1526 applied for affiliation with the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois, Thomas White served as President, John Collins served as Secretary, and Lance Barnes served as Treasurer; and

WHEREAS, The original 12 members were Thomas White, John Collins, Lance Barnes, Virgil Haselow, Paul Rubino, Tomas Webber, John Gronwick, Richard Schiferl, Henry Davis, Arthur Roberts, Witaly Bakalet, and Gerry Rexses; and

WHEREAS, Franklin Park Professional Firefighters Association Local 1526 is currently 38 members strong; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the Franklin Park Professional Firefighters Association Local 1526 upon its 50th anniversary and its continued affiliation with the Associated Firefighters of Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Franklin Park Professional Firefighters Association Local 1526 as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
