SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
430 ILCS 66/55

    Amends the Firearm Concealed Carry Act. Provides that if the licensee is an Illinois resident and moves to another state, the Department of State Police shall issue the license with the person's new address. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning safety.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Firearm Concealed Carry Act is amended by
5changing Section 55 as follows:
 
6    (430 ILCS 66/55)
7    Sec. 55. Change of address or name; lost, destroyed, or
8stolen licenses.
9    (a) A licensee shall notify the Department within 30 days
10of moving or changing residence or any change of name. The
11licensee shall submit:
12        (1) a notarized statement that the licensee has changed
13    his or her residence or his or her name, including the
14    prior and current address or name and the date the
15    applicant moved or changed his or her name; and
16        (2) the requisite fee.
17    (a-5) If the licensee is an Illinois resident and moves to
18another state, the Department shall issue the license with the
19person's new address.
20    (b) A licensee shall notify the Department within 10 days
21of discovering that a license has been lost, destroyed, or
22stolen. A lost, destroyed, or stolen license is invalid. To
23request a replacement license, the licensee shall submit:

1        (1) a notarized statement that the licensee no longer
2    possesses the license, and that it was lost, destroyed, or
3    stolen;
4        (2) if applicable, a copy of a police report stating
5    that the license was stolen; and
6        (3) the requisite fee.
7    (c) A violation of this Section is a petty offense with a
8fine of $150 which shall be deposited into the Mental Health
9Reporting Fund.

11    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
12becoming law.
