SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ambrose Frances Ferri of Waukegan, who passed away on October 19, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Ambrose Ferri retired from the United States Navy in 1966 after many years of dedicated service to his nation; and

WHEREAS, As a Pearl Harbor survivor, Ambrose Ferri was a well known historian, speaker, and contributor to many veterans' organizations; and

WHEREAS, Ambrose Ferri was preceded in death by his 3 brothers; his 2 sisters; his eldest son, Thomas M. Ferri; and his son-in-law, Russell Alexander; and

WHEREAS, Ambrose Ferri is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruby Nasett Ferri; his sons, Daniel and David; his daughter-in-law, Kathy (Washburn); his daughter, Patricia Ferri Alexander; and his 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Ambrose Frances Ferri; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ambrose Ferri as an expression of our sympathy.
