HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Midshipman John Matthew Pacocha of Elmwood Park on his graduation from the United States Naval Academy; and

WHEREAS, He will graduate from the United States Naval Academy on May 29, 2012 with a degree in Systems Engineering; and

WHEREAS, John is the son of John and Susan Pacocha of Elmwood Park; and

WHEREAS, During his Second Class year he held a squad leader position in 13th Company; as a Firstie, he was the Company Physical Mission Officer for the first semester and is currently the Company Training Officer; and

WHEREAS, During his Youngster summer he spent 4 weeks in San Diego on a fast attack submarine and 3 weeks on a 44 foot sailboat out of Annapolis; he then began to focus his attention on the United States Marine Corps; and

WHEREAS, His Second Class summer was also spent in San Diego, spent on PROTRAMID (professional training of midshipman); for his First Class summer he spent a month in Quantico, Virginia, taking part in Leatherneck, a preparatory training exercise designed to give Marine Corps hopefuls a taste of life as a Marine; and

WHEREAS, After his time at Quantico, he returned to Annapolis to become a First Set Detailer during plebe summer for the Class of 2015; and

WHEREAS, He is a member of the Semper Fi Society and got his first choice for service selection as Marine Corps Ground; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate John Pacocha on his graduation and wish him the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to John Pacocha as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
