HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Kyran Patrick Conarchy of Chicago on his 90th birthday; and

WHEREAS, He was the devoted son of Kyran and Jane Conarchy and was a dedicated caregiver to his parents during their later years; and

WHEREAS, He has been a resident of Highland Park since moving there in 1949; he is a member and lector of Immaculate Conception Parish in Highland Park; he is a member of the parish Men's group and previously taught high school religious education in the parish; and

WHEREAS, He served in the United States Army during World War II; he was an air observer and the Executive Officer of Battery A; and

WHEREAS, He received a Bronze Star for aiding his fellow soldiers and continuing to lead his battery of men during an intense battle in March of 1945; and

WHEREAS, He was the third oldest of 7 children; he is a beloved and very involved uncle of 42 nieces and nephews and many, many grandnieces and grandnephews and even great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews; his birthday will be celebrated on Saturday, May 21, 2011, with a mass and dinner at Immaculate Conception Church in Highland Park; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Kyran Conarchy on the occasion of his 90th birthday and also thank him for his service to the United States of America during World War II; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Kyran Conarchy as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
