HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor Sergeant James Peterson on his retirement from the Cook County Sheriff's Department; and

WHEREAS, James Peterson was born May 18, 1953; he attended Amundsen High School in 1968 and later received his GED; and

WHEREAS, He joined the United States Army in 1970, he was honorably discharged years later; and

WHEREAS, He joined the Cook County Sheriff's Department and graduated with honors on August 3, 1981; he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in April of 2003; and

WHEREAS, After serving 31 years with the Cook County Sheriff's Department, he will retire on May 31, 2012; and

WHEREAS, James Peterson is married to his lovely wife, Janet; their children are the late Jim Jr., Paul, and Jaclyn; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor Sergeant Peterson for his years of dedication to law enforcement and wish him all the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Sergeant James Peterson as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
