SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Danny LaVerne Foxall of Augusta, who passed away on January 27, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Danny Foxall was born to Edith Gander and H. "LaVerne" Foxall in Macomb on June 5, 1940; he attended schools in Macomb and Philadelphia, Missouri; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years; he married Patricia "Trish" Oakman at the Little Chapel of the West in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 29, 1980; and

WHEREAS, After the Marine Corps, Danny Foxall served as a structural steel ironworker out of Local 577 in West Burlington, Iowa; he retired from ironwork at age 62; his post-retirement pastime was acting as an escort vehicle driver for wind towers, which he did until 2019; and

WHEREAS, Danny Foxall enjoyed racing motorcycles, drag cars, and stock cars, earning several championship honors throughout his racing career; he became an avid NASCAR fan, and he could be found most weekends racing or watching and cheering on his favorite drivers; and

WHEREAS, Danny Foxall's greatest joy came from his family, and he loved his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Danny Foxall was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Edith and Vic Young; his father, La Verne Foxall; his stepmother, Jacki Stephens; and his brother, Bill Foxall; and

WHEREAS, Danny Foxall is survived by his wife, Patricia; his children, Daryll Foxall, Cindy "Sis" (Steve) Thomas, Jim (Lisa) Foxall, Jenifer (Kevin) Buckert, and Vicki (Rob) McAlister; his grandchildren, Bronson Royer, Tyler Royer, Andrea Woodward, Nicole Thomas, Ron Foxall, Samantha Webb, Eric Lux, Kyle Lux, Cameron Lux, Rebecca Lux, James "Jimmie" Foxall, Luke Buckert, Mary Buckert, Paul Buckert, Maddox McAlister, Meredith McAlister, and Micah McAlister; his 17 great-grandchildren; his two great-great-grandchildren; his brothers, Larry Foxall, Ken (Sarah) Foxall, Bob Foxall, and Scott Foxall; and his sister, Vicki Cannon; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Danny LaVerne Foxall and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Danny Foxall as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
