HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Lincoln High School girls basketball team, the Railsplitters, for their performance during the 2022-23 season; and

WHEREAS, The Railsplitters, through teamwork and dedication, remained indomitable this season, concluding with a record of 36-1; and

WHEREAS, The Railsplitters entered the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 3A Girls Basketball State Finals as strong contenders against the Nazareth Academy girls basketball team, the Roadrunners, of LaGrange Park; and

WHEREAS, The Railsplitters put together an amazing defensive effort, ultimately achieving a final score of 52-63 to place second in the State; and

WHEREAS, During the 2022-23 season, the Railsplitters achievements include being named champions of the Pana Thanksgiving Tournament, the Dixon Holiday Tournament, the Apollo Conference, Regionals, Sectionals, and Super Sectionals and placing as State Runner-up; and

WHEREAS, The Railsplitters additionally set several team records this season, including accomplishing 36 consecutive wins, 36 wins in a season, and 14 three-point field goals in a single game; and

WHEREAS, The Railsplitters team is led by Head Coach Taylor Rohrer, who has helped these young women to play their best against any team they encountered; and

WHEREAS, The Railsplitters team is also led by Assistant Coaches Cory Farmer and Grace Bossingham, Athletic Trainer Matt While, and Managers Myah Bowman, Tamari Pressior, Ryan Fruge, and Kip Dunham; and

WHEREAS, The Railsplitters team includes Ceana Adams, Jenna Bowman, Mia Clark, Kloe Froebe, Tori Geriets, Destinee Harper, Becca Heitzig, Lily Holmes, Makinley Knapp, Mesa McCloud, Grace Schneider, Taryn Stoltzenburg, and Piper Whiteman; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Lincoln High School girls basketball team, the Railsplitters, and Head Coach Taylor Rohrer for an outstanding season; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Head Coach Taylor Rohrer and the Railsplitters as an expression of our esteem and respect.
