SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Nellie X. Yeisley, who passed away on
4August 18, 2021 at the age of 70; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Nellie Yeisley was born in River Forest on
6January 18, 1951 to loving parents Ann and Ben Lenox; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Nellie Yeisley attended St. Luke's Elementary
8School and graduated from Trinity High School in River Forest
9in 1969; and
 
10    WHEREAS, During her youth, Nellie Yeisley made many close
11friendships that lasted throughout her life; her loved ones
12remember her as being a truly loyal friend who would drop
13everything to help someone in need; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Nellie Yeisley married in Saint Luke's Church in
15River Forest and settled in Oak Park, where she raised two
16children, Matthew and Victoria; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Nellie Yeisley dedicated herself to her children
18as a loving mother, making sure to always be there for her
19family; during the school year, she worked as a secretary for
20Ascension Catholic Elementary School in Oak Park, where she

1strove to provide a nurturing and loving environment for all
2students; during the summer, she and her family could be found
3spending time with extended family members at their cabin in
4Long Lake, Wisconsin; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Nellie Yeisley later went to work for Pilgrim
6Real Estate as a dependable and hard-working office
7administrator; however, she had a wide variety of interests
8and an entrepreneurial spirit that led her to many
9occupations; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Nellie Yeisley's love of dogs eventually drew her
11to the career of dog walking; after several years, she started
12her own dog walking company, TLC, where she walked and cared
13for a variety of four-legged friends in the western suburbs of
14Chicago; she also made great friendships with their owners;
15she was known to family and friends as a true "dog whisperer"
16who made deep connections with and cared for every dog as if it
17were her own; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Nellie Yeisley was a Catholic who strove to treat
19others how she wanted to be treated; her faith motivated her to
20journey on a pilgrimage to Our Lady of Medjugorje; she was
21deeply moved by this experience and cherished the rosaries she
22received there for the rest of her life; and

1    WHEREAS, As she went through the ups and downs of life,
2Nellie Yeisley was a never-ending fountain of positivity;
3refusing to dwell on the bad, she took pride and joy in what
4she had and continually gave thanks for her loving friends and
5family; in doing so, she was always sure to lend a helping hand
6and be fully present at events for her friends and family; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Nellie Yeisley was a kind and caring mother,
8grandmother, friend, and dog-lover who was devoted to
9spreading her kindness and love to all she met; therefore, be
10it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Nellie X. Yeisley and extend our sincere condolences to her
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Nellie Yeisley as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
