SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the passing of Greg White, who passed away on July
417, 2021 at the age of 68; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Greg White was born on October 4, 1952 to loving
6parents Miles and Helen White; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Greg White was the brother of Denise (George)
8Carfagnini, John (Evelyn) White, and the late Fr. Myles White;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Greg White dedicated himself to educating young
11minds as a teacher at St. Francis Borgia in Chicago, a position
12he held for 40 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, In 1987, Greg White was appointed deputy clerk of
14Oak Park Township and served in the role for 10 years; in 1997,
15he was elected town clerk and was re-elected to the office for
1624 consecutive years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, As a member of the Oak Park Township Board of
18Trustees, Greg White was the clockwork of the township,
19keeping track of the past, present, and future; as keeper of
20the official records and history for the township, he valued

1transparency and efficiency; as the township moved through
2each annual cycle, he kept up with the rhythm of levies,
3budgets, audits, and other processes; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Greg White was an advocate for township services,
5recognizing and supporting the critical needs worthy of the
6township's professional and attentive care; serving with him
7and sharing friendships was a privilege and an honor; the
8values, ideals, and goals in which he believed and supported
9are and will always be his most honored legacy; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Above all, Greg White was loyal, consistent, and
11committed; he believed in the work and value of the township;
12whether it was keeping records organized and available to the
13public, making sure that elections ran smoothly, or being
14present at the board table or at any township or community
15events, he rarely missed any opportunity to be of service to
16his community; his presence and dedication will be missed by
17all of those at the Township and in the community; therefore,
18be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
21Greg White and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
22friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

1    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2presented to the family of Greg White as an expression of our
3deepest sympathy.
