SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Robert Henning Hollmer of Taylor
4Ridge, who passed away on November 22, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Henning Hollmer was born to Henning and
6Bessie Brown Hollmer in Davenport, Iowa on May 12, 1926; he
7served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; he married Doris
8E. Roussell in Davenport on February 4, 1947; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Hollmer was a bricklayer for the
10Bricklayers Local #6 and retired in the late 1980s; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Hollmer served on the Rock Island County
12Zoning Board for more than twenty years; he was also very
13involved with the Democratic Party and served in many
14different capacities; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Robert Hollmer was an avid horse enthusiast who
16enjoyed raising, training, and showing horses; he enjoyed
17maintaining his yard, and he loved and cherished his family;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Robert Henning was preceded in death by his
20parents; his wife; his sons, Michael and Douglas Hollmer; his

1daughter, Judith Hollmer-Bradley; his sisters, Lois Butt, Ruth
2Steffen and Joann Hollmer; and his brother, Donald Hollmer;
3and
 
4    WHEREAS, Robert Henning is survived by his daughters,
5Karen (Mike) Hines and Susan (Dave) Wynn; his nine
6grandchildren; his eighteen great-grandchildren; his
7daughter-in-law, Carolyn Hollmer; his son-in-law, Marty
8Bradley; his sisters-in-law, Darlene Carstens and Mary Piercy;
9and his numerous niece and nephews; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Robert Henning Hollmer and extend our sincere condolences to
13his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Robert Hollmer as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
