SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert Henning Hollmer of Taylor Ridge, who passed away on November 22, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Robert Henning Hollmer was born to Henning and Bessie Brown Hollmer in Davenport, Iowa on May 12, 1926; he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; he married Doris E. Roussell in Davenport on February 4, 1947; and

WHEREAS, Robert Hollmer was a bricklayer for the Bricklayers Local #6 and retired in the late 1980s; and

WHEREAS, Robert Hollmer served on the Rock Island County Zoning Board for more than twenty years; he was also very involved with the Democratic Party and served in many different capacities; and

WHEREAS, Robert Hollmer was an avid horse enthusiast who enjoyed raising, training, and showing horses; he enjoyed maintaining his yard, and he loved and cherished his family; and

WHEREAS, Robert Henning was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sons, Michael and Douglas Hollmer; his daughter, Judith Hollmer-Bradley; his sisters, Lois Butt, Ruth Steffen and Joann Hollmer; and his brother, Donald Hollmer; and

WHEREAS, Robert Henning is survived by his daughters, Karen (Mike) Hines and Susan (Dave) Wynn; his nine grandchildren; his eighteen great-grandchildren; his daughter-in-law, Carolyn Hollmer; his son-in-law, Marty Bradley; his sisters-in-law, Darlene Carstens and Mary Piercy; and his numerous niece and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert Henning Hollmer and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Hollmer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
