SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Susan Ann (Nichols) Lindberg, who passed away on October 31, 2020, at the age of 74; and

WHEREAS, Susan Lindberg was a creative genius who acted, directed, choreographed, danced, and wrote professionally; she was a founding member of the community theater group Oak Park Musical Theatre (OPMT); and

WHEREAS, Susan Lindberg was dedicated to Oak Park School District 97, and she developed and oversaw the Integrated Arts Program at Emerson/Brooks Middle School; she also directed the Children's Theatre for Village Players; and

WHEREAS, Susan Lindberg spent her post-retirement years giving tours at Ernest Hemingway's birthplace; her final acting roles were as Emma Goldman and Grace Hall Hemingway; and

WHEREAS, Susan Lindberg was an aficionado of Cary Grant movies; and

WHEREAS, Susan Lindberg was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Rosetta Nichols; her siblings, Robert E. Nichols Jr. and Gail Esposito; and her husband, Roger Lindberg; and

WHEREAS, At the time of her death, Susan Lindberg was survived by her children, Eric Lindberg and Kate Lindberg-Vazquez (Myrna Vazquez), and her grandson, Matheos; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Susan Ann (Nichols) Lindberg and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Susan Lindberg as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
