SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Owen Kemper Shaker Petrzelka of Oak Park, who passed away on October 6, 2020 at the age of six; and

WHEREAS, Owen Petrzelka was brave, calm, mindful, and wise; he was a proud Horace Mann Elementary School Mustang; and

WHEREAS, Owen Petrzelka had an infectious giggle and was a joyful presence to his loved ones; and

WHEREAS, Owen was protective of his younger siblings, Sydney and Wyatt; and

WHEREAS, Owen Petrzelka settled two global debates; he decided that hot dogs taste best when they are grilled and that s'mores are the best dessert; and

WHEREAS, In his six years, Owen Petrzelka touched and inspired many lives and his community; and

WHEREAS, Owen Petrzelka was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerald and Patrice "Pat" Klonke; and

WHEREAS, Owen Petrzelka is survived by his parents, Adam Petrzelka and Amanda Shaker; his younger siblings, Sydney and Wyatt; his grandparents, Anthony and Lucy Shaker; his cousins; and his friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Owen Kemper Shaker Petrzelka and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Owen Petrzelka as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
