SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bobby "Bob" Ray Cravens of Rock Island, who passed away on November 24, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Bobby Cravens was born to Otis and Dorothy "Dollie" McRoy Cravens in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on June 23, 1949; he was drafted into the U.S. Army when he turned 18 and served two years in Vietnam; he married Cheryl Jeffrey in Rock Island on September 3rd, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Bobby Cravens first worked for the City of Rock Island; he then worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the Mississippi River for 28 years; and

WHEREAS, Bobby Cravens was an avid Harley Davidson rider who traveled many miles down the highways with his friends and family; and

WHEREAS, Bobby Cravens was preceded in death by his parents; his twin sisters, Fran and Freida; and his son, Cody Ray Cravens; and

WHEREAS, Bobby Cravens is survived by his wife; his children, Kenyon (Tracey) Shepard, Ranae Roberts, Nanette Shepard, Kandi (Bill) Walker, Carissa (Jon) Hanson, Jeremy (Kelly) Jeffrey, and James Jeffrey; and his several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Bobby "Bob" Ray Cravens and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bobby Cravens as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
