SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Donald L. "Don" Ague Jr. of Silvis,
4who passed away on November 14, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Don Ague was born in Geneseo to Donald and
6Virginia (Graehling) Ague on February 20, 1944; he attended
7Riverdale High School in Port Byron; he served in the U.S. Navy
8aboard the USS Constellation from 1963 to 1967; he married
9Bonnie Day in Moline on October 8, 1977; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Don Ague spent his career as a tool and die maker
11at Swan Engineering; he retired in 2009 as a tool room manager;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Don Ague volunteered much of his time for Habitat
14for Humanity Restore; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Don Ague was a member of The Gathering in Moline,
16the Silvis Garden Club, and the Vietnam Veterans of America
17Chapter #669; he was an avid gardener and a talented
18woodworker and crafted lovely furniture for his home and gifts
19for family and friends; he was a kind, loving, generous man and
20will be missed by all who knew him; and

1    WHEREAS, Don Ague was preceded in death by his parents;
2his brothers, Dale and LeRoy Ague; and his sisters, Sharlyne
3Fuller and Pam Barnett; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Don Ague is survived by his wife of 45 years,
5Bonnie; his daughters, Wendy Teague and Crissy (Tim) Terry;
6eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his brother,
7Emery (Deb) Ague; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore,
8be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Donald L. "Don" Ague Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to
12his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Don Ague as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
