SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Margaret Louise "Peggy" Knosher, who passed away on August 5, 2022, at the age of 86; and

WHEREAS, Peggy Knosher was born in Eagleton, Wisconsin on October 26, 1935, the daughter of Raymond and Sarah Meyer; and

WHEREAS, Peggy Knosher graduated from Naperville High School in 1953 and completed Registered Nurses Training at Copley Hospital in Aurora in 1956; upon completion of her training, she cared for patients in various doctors' offices in the area; and

WHEREAS, On December 24, 1956, Peggy Knosher married Harlan Knosher; she continued to work as a nurse until the birth of their first child, after which she elected to stay at home to raise her daughter; her husband worked as a professor of Physical Education and eventually became Director of Athletics at Knox College in Galesburg; and

WHEREAS, Once her two daughters were grown, Peggy Knosher opened The Frameworks, a picture framing service in downtown Galesburg; she opened the store with David Robinson in the late 1980s; she was very proud that the business she founded has been passed to several owners and remains open to present day; and

WHEREAS, Peggy Knosher was dedicated to her family and friends throughout her life; her greatest joy came from the accomplishments of those she loved, and she was a strong source of support and encouragement for each of them throughout her life; she also took genuine enjoyment from reading, gardening, and sewing; and

WHEREAS, Peggy Knosher was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Don Meyer; and

WHEREAS, Peggy Knosher is survived by her husband of over 65 years, Harlan; two daughters, Kathryn (Rich) Harden and Laura Knosher; four grandchildren, Jeff (Melissa) Harden, Colleen (Hamed) Aziz, Chad Thompson, and Eric Thompson; four great-grandsons; and her brother, Bill Meyer; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Margaret Louise "Peggy" Knosher and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Peggy Knosher as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
