SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Margaret Louise "Peggy" Knosher, who
4passed away on August 5, 2022, at the age of 86; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Peggy Knosher was born in Eagleton, Wisconsin on
6October 26, 1935, the daughter of Raymond and Sarah Meyer; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Peggy Knosher graduated from Naperville High
8School in 1953 and completed Registered Nurses Training at
9Copley Hospital in Aurora in 1956; upon completion of her
10training, she cared for patients in various doctors' offices
11in the area; and
 
12    WHEREAS, On December 24, 1956, Peggy Knosher married
13Harlan Knosher; she continued to work as a nurse until the
14birth of their first child, after which she elected to stay at
15home to raise her daughter; her husband worked as a professor
16of Physical Education and eventually became Director of
17Athletics at Knox College in Galesburg; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Once her two daughters were grown, Peggy Knosher
19opened The Frameworks, a picture framing service in downtown
20Galesburg; she opened the store with David Robinson in the
21late 1980s; she was very proud that the business she founded

1has been passed to several owners and remains open to present
2day; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Peggy Knosher was dedicated to her family and
4friends throughout her life; her greatest joy came from the
5accomplishments of those she loved, and she was a strong
6source of support and encouragement for each of them
7throughout her life; she also took genuine enjoyment from
8reading, gardening, and sewing; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Peggy Knosher was preceded in death by her
10parents and her brother, Don Meyer; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Peggy Knosher is survived by her husband of over
1265 years, Harlan; two daughters, Kathryn (Rich) Harden and
13Laura Knosher; four grandchildren, Jeff (Melissa) Harden,
14Colleen (Hamed) Aziz, Chad Thompson, and Eric Thompson; four
15great-grandsons; and her brother, Bill Meyer; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Margaret Louise "Peggy" Knosher and extend our sincere
19condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
20her; and be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
