SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Stephen "Steve" P. Winne of Palm Coast, Florida, formerly of Moline, a retired Moline firefighter who passed away on November 16, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Steve Winne was born to Harry and Grace (Schell) Winne on February 21, 1947; he graduated from Moline High School and attended Fire Science classes at Black Hawk College; he served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972; he married Karen Hoglund at Sacred Heart Church on October 1, 1976; and

WHEREAS, Steve Winne enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing with his granddaughters; and

WHEREAS, Steve Winne is survived by his wife, Karen; Michael (Erica) and Kristin; and his two granddaughters; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Stephen "Steve" P. Winne and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Steve Winne as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
