SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of George W. Keckler Jr. of Taylor Ridge, who passed away on November 14, 2022; and

WHEREAS, George Keckler was born to George W. Keckler Sr. and Lois F. Newberry Keckler in Iowa City, Iowa on December 11, 1933; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; he married Peggy B. Simon in Springfield on February 8, 1969; and

WHEREAS, George Keckler worked as a groundskeeper at the Isle of Capri Casino, Bettendorf; he had previously worked for Sivyer Steel, Bettendorf; and

WHEREAS, George Keckler was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening; and

WHEREAS, George Keckler was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and several siblings; and

WHEREAS, George Keckler is survived by his children and their spouses, Greg and Connie Duffield, Diana and Michael Skidmore, Deeni Leake, Daniel and Cynthia Duffield, Billy and Debra Duffield, Brenda and James Bowen, George A. and Shannon Keckler, Lisa and Pat West, Keith and Sherry Reed, Craig and Wendy McBee, and Theresa and Clark Brain; his many grandchildren; his many great-grandchildren; and several siblings; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of George W. Keckler Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George Keckler as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
