SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Raymond G. "Ray" Culley of Silvis, who
4passed away on November 9, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ray Culley was born to Fred G. and Odetta F.
6(Hibbs) Culley in Hampton on September 3, 1938; he served in
7the U.S. Navy; he married Nadine S. Snyder at the First
8Methodist Church in East Moline on September 27, 1959; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ray Culley worked as a photographer for the Rock
10Island Arsenal for over 30 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ray Culley was a founding member of Faith Walk
12World Outreach Center, where he volunteered in every capacity;
13he taught Children's Ministry for 35 years; he started and
14worked the Tuesday free meals program Spirit, Soul & Body
15Outreach for 17 years; most recently, he was a coordinator of
16The Oasis in East Moline; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Ray Culley was a loving father, grandfather, and
18great-grandfather; he was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ray Culley was preceded in death by his wife; his
20parents; and his brother, Richard; and

1    WHEREAS, Ray Culley is survived by his children, Pastors
2Scott (Tonya) Culley and Joni (Kirk) Severs; his
3grandchildren, Pastors Rachel (C.J.) Hoffman, Josh (April)
4Severs, Heather Culley, Hannah (Nick) Brown, Megan (Brad)
5Whitcomb, Daniel Severs, and Andrew Severs; his
6great-grandchildren, Melodie Hoffman, Josiah Hoffman, Isabelle
7Hoffman, Esther Hoffman, Finnley Severs, and Anika Severs; his
8special granddaughter, Emmy Brandau; his sister, Barbara
9Stark; and his sister-in-law, Marilyn Culley; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Raymond G. "Ray" Culley and extend our sincere condolences to
13his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Ray Culley as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
