SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of John E. Wangelin of Milan, who passed
4away on September 1, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Wangelin was born to Hugh and Mary (Tindall)
6Wangelin in Rock Island on December 1, 1933; he graduated from
7Sherrard High School in 1951; he served in the U.S. Army; he
8married Norma Albertson on August 24, 1957; and
 
9    WHEREAS, John Wangelin retired from Alcoa, where he served
10as a lab technician for many years; he was also a lifelong
11farmer and enjoyed every minute he spent outside in the
12fields; and
 
13    WHEREAS, John Wangelin enjoyed restoring antique tractors,
14cars, and trucks; and
 
15    WHEREAS, John Wangelin was quick-witted, humorous, and
16extremely hard working; he loved his family beyond measure;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, John Wangelin was preceded in death by his
19parents; his sister, Beverly (William H. Jr.) King; and his
20son, Benjamin Wangelin; and

1    WHEREAS, John Wangelin is survived by his wife of 65
2years, Norma Wangelin; his daughters, Carolyn (Mark) Minteer
3and Elizabeth (Lenny) Lipe; his grandchildren, Johnathan
4(Alysia) Wangelin, Matt (Holly) Wangelin, Ronnie (Dorothy)
5Minteer, Emilie (Michael) Lawrence, Jessica (Garrett) Lipe,
6and Logan (Josie) Lipe; his great-grandchildren, Libby, Luke,
7Gavin, and Noely; and his nephew, Bob (Karen) King; therefore,
8be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11John E. Wangelin and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of John Wangelin as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
