SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas E. "Tom" DeCrane of Moline, who passed away on July 21, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Tom DeCrane was born in Rock Island to Donald and Theresa (Klauer) DeCrane on April 16, 1955; he served in the U.S. Air Force and married Irita Fischer in Rhaunen, Germany on February 14, 1975; and

WHEREAS, Tom DeCrane retired as a project manager from the U.S. Army in 2014 after 38 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Tom DeCrane was a member of the NRA and the Milan Rifle Club; he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a kind and caring man who loved his family and friends; he was of the Catholic faith; and

WHEREAS, Tom DeCrane was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Stephen and Linda; and

WHEREAS, Tom DeCrane is survived by his wife, Irita; his children, Samantha (Jeremiah) DeCrane Kaha and Elisabeth DeCrane; his siblings, Daniel (Becky) DeCrane and Christine (Greg) Miecznikowski; and his sister-in-law, Petra Gillespie; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas E. "Tom" DeCrane and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tom DeCrane as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
