SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard "Whitey" J. Danielson of East Moline, who passed away on June 29, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Richard Danielson was born to Eldon "E. Kenneth" and Myrtle (Hansen) Danielson in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on March 5, 1946; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969; he married Teresa "Terry" Pervenanze in Port Byron on July 24, 1987; and

WHEREAS, Richard Danielson retired from the Rock Island Arsenal after more than 40 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Richard Danielson enjoyed watching NASCAR and being with his family and his beloved dog, Zeta; and

WHEREAS, Richard Danielson was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his sister, Mary Jo Doud; and his brothers, Marvin and Denton "Red" Danielson; and

WHEREAS, Richard Danielson is survived by his children, Dawn (Bryan) Stone and Tammy (Albert) Burgess; his grandchildren, Amanda (Jason) Flaugh, Alexandria (Ryne) Parker, and Madison Streeter; his great-grandchildren, Noah, Leona Jo, Hallie, and Zoe Flaugh and Sebastian Parker; and his sisters, Lois Retzl and Elaine Foster; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard "Whitey" J. Danielson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Danielson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
