SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Ruth Juanita Hatcher of Granite City,
4who passed away on April 28, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ruth Hatcher was born to Mary (Vaughn) Ferguson
6and Roy Lee Ferguson Sr. in Venice on November 15, 1924; she
7graduated from Venice High School; she married Floyd Hatcher
8in St. Louis, Missouri on February 27, 1943; they lived in
9California for a short time until he was sent to Germany during
10World War II; she lived with her parents in Venice until he
11returned home from Germany; from that time on, they resided in
12Granite City, where she lived until the last few years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ruth Hatcher was a stay-at-home mom, always there
14for her children when they arrived home from school; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ruth Hatcher was a member of Niedringhaus United
16Methodist Church since 1951; prior to that, she was a member of
17the Venice Methodist Church; she enjoyed spending time with
18her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she also enjoyed
19planning and taking family vacations every year; she loved the
20St. Louis Cardinals and going to games as long as she was able;
21and

1    WHEREAS, Ruth Hatcher was a dedicated wife, mother,
2daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, mother-in-law,
3grandmother, and great-grandmother; she was kind, patient,
4loving, and always by her family's side when they needed her;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Ruth Hatcher was preceded in death by her
7parents; her brother, Roy Lee Ferguson Jr.; and her husband of
847 years, Floyd; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ruth Hatcher was the mother of Darlene Marie
10Hatcher, Ronald Floyd Hatcher (Carol), and Dennis Ray Hatcher
11(Nancy), the grandmother of Kimberly Ann Kahn, Joshua David
12Kahn (Darlene), Allison Beth Hatcher, Adam Kyle Hatcher
13(Dennis), Lorri Anne Hatcher, and Michael Scott Hatcher
14(Ronald), and the great-grandmother of Autumn Ruth Kahn,
15Ashten Jobe Kahn (Joshua Kahn), Teddy Hatcher, Auggie Hatcher
16(Lorri Hatcher), and Mia Moore (Allison Hatcher); therefore,
17be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
20Ruth Juanita Hatcher and extend our sincere condolences to her
21family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
22further

1    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2presented to the family of Ruth Hatcher as an expression of our
3deepest sympathy.
