HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Rockridge High School softball team, the Rockets, of Taylor Ridge on the occasion of winning the 2022 Illinois High School Association Class 2A Softball State Tournament; and

WHEREAS, The Rockets remained undefeated in their 2022 season, finishing the state championship series with a 35-0 season record; and

WHEREAS, The Rockets entered the state tournament as the defending champions with an undefeated 29-0 record in 2021; and

WHEREAS, The Rockets' combined 64-0 record for the 2021 and 2022 seasons made the Rockets the first team in Illinois history to achieve back-to-back undefeated championship seasons; and

WHEREAS, The Rockets' success was due in part to the community, school, and coaching staff, whose commendable support and effort allow students to grow and excel, further building a successful softball program; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Rockridge High School softball team, the Rockets, on winning the 2022 Illinois High School Association Class 2A Softball State Tournament, and we commend the entire girls softball program at Rockridge High School for their successful season; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Rockets as an expression of our respect and esteem for their hard work.
