SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael A. Hansen of Greenwood, who passed away on December 28, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hansen was born on March 14, 1949 in Woodstock to Clarence and Marjorie (nee Hutson) Hansen; he graduated from Woodstock High School in 1968 and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hansen worked for Unions #681 and #150 for 30 years, retiring in 2011; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hansen enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his beloved companion, Scrappy; his greatest joy was his family and babysitting his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hansen was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Hansen and by his brother, Dean Hansen; and

WHEREAS, Michael Hansen is survived by his son, Christopher M. (Jessie) Hansen; his daughter, Vonnie R. Hansen; his grandchildren, Mollie Hansen, Mariah Hansen, Connor Hansen, Kylee Hansen, and Nicholas Hansen; his mother, Marjorie Hansen; his sister, Linda Hansen Goad; his nieces, Amy (Bill) O'Brien, Katie Krause, and Carrie (Jamison) MacDonald; and several aunts and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Michael A. Hansen, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Hansen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
