SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of David J. Tietjen of Crystal Lake, who passed away on December 25, 2013; and

WHEREAS, David Tietjen was born in McHenry on September 29, 1931 to Nikolaus and Anna (nee Klintworth) Tietjen; he attended Prairie Grove and Immanuel Lutheran Schools and served his country in the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, David Tietjen farmed in the Crystal Lake area most of his life; he also worked for the Nunda Township Road District for many years; and

WHEREAS, David Tietjen was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, David Tietjen is survived by his sister, Annie (John) Holsten; his brother, Siegfried (Dorothy) Tietjen; his niece, Shirley (Don) Freese; and his nephews, Jim (JoAnn) Holsten, William (Carol) Tietjen, John Tietjen, and Bob Tietjen; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of David J. Tietjen, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of David Tietjen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
