SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gordon Lohmeyer, who passed away on December 20, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Gordon Lohmeyer was born on December 10, 1927 in Linn, Kansas; his parents were Lawrence and Dora Kriete Lohmeyer; and

WHEREAS, Gordon Lohmeyer and his brother, Carroll, were the owners of a dairy farm in Hartland, where they milked over 100 cows a day; after his retirement from farming, he and his wife began to antique and refinish furniture; and

WHEREAS, Gordon Lohmeyer was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents; and his sisters, Gertrude (Lyle) Koppen and Juanita Lohmeyer Ward; and

WHEREAS, Gordon Lohmeyer is survived by his children, Ralph (Donna Lynn) Lohmeyer and Donna (Adam) Kling; his grandchildren, Amber (Tim) Carpenter, Mark Jensen, Alexander Jensen, and Molly, Allison, and Charlotte Ransbottom; his great-grandchildren, Aubrey Lynn Jensen and Madeline Grace Carpenter; his brother, Carroll (Margaret) Lohmeyer; his brother-in-law, Robert Ward; Fred, Richard, Donald, and David Triebold; his many nieces and nephews; and his loving dog, Marley; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Gordon Lohmeyer; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gordon Lohmeyer as an expression of our sympathy.
