SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard C. Kazimier of Spring Grove, who passed away on November 30, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kazimier was born on November 20, 1930 in Chicago; his parents were Julian and Irene (nee Anielewski) Kazimier; he married Phyllis Haacker on August 20, 1952 in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kazimier served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kazimier was employed as a mold maker in the tool and die industry and served as a shop foreman for many years; he also owned and operated the Lazy K Campground in Spring Grove for over 22 years until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kazimier was a member of the Community Church of Richmond, where he served as chairman of the board of trustees' he was a 50-year member and past master of Ben Hur Lodge #818 and a member of the Scottish Rite; he was also a former member and past secretary of the Richmond Rotary Club; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kazimier enjoyed collecting and working on Model HO gauge trains, listening to classical and organ music, fishing, camping, traveling, and family activities; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kazimier was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jennifer Stewart, and his brother, Henry Kazimier; and

WHEREAS, Richard Kazimier is survived by his wife of 61 years, Phyllis; his children, David (Char) Kazimier, Karen (Steven Sandberg) Lynn, Philip (Julie) Kazimier, Kenneth (Cheryl) Kazimier, and Laura Kazimier; his grandchildren Carl, Kevin, Heather, Jason, Patricia, Kathryn, William, Matthew, and Sarah; and his great-grandchildren, Kayla and Hannah Richard; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Richard C. Kazimier; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Kazimier as an expression of our sympathy.
