SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bette B. Novak of Arlington Heights, who passed away on June 10, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Bette Novak was born on April 23, 1927, in Chicago to Joseph and Marie (nee Simon) Burger; and

WHEREAS, Bette Novak worked as a substitute teacher for the Chicago Public Schools; and

WHEREAS, Bette Novak was a member of Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church in Arlington Heights; she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Bette Novak was preceded in death by her parents; and

WHEREAS, Bette Novak is survived by her husband of 66 years, Daniel; her children, Mark D. (Patty) Novak, Katie (Steve) Lescohier, Mike J. (Alice) Novak, Eric "Rick" W. (Susanne) Novak, and Dan (Carol) Novak; her grandchildren, Emily, Mark, Andrew, Matthew, Joseph, Michael, Erik, Sarah, Karl, Jimmy, John, and Haley; her great-grandson, Samuel; and her sister, Lucille Moore; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Bette B. Novak, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bette Novak as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
