SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Salvatori A. Lavite of Wood River, who passed away on October 2, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Salvatori Lavite was born on July 21, 1936 in Wood River to Peter and Angelina (nee Frisina) Lavite; he served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962; and

WHEREAS, Salvatori Lavite worked for the Schwartz Furniture Store in Wood River as a driver and delivery man for 29 years before retiring in 1998; and

WHEREAS, Salvatori Lavite was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #254 and the Wood River Moose Lodge #1349; he was also a proud member of Teamsters Local #525 and Wood River Labor Local #338; and

WHEREAS, Salvatori Lavite was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Jack and Vincent Lavite; and his sister, Jacqueline Thomas; and

WHEREAS, Salvatori Lavite is survived by his sons, Sam A. (Dana) Lavite, Michael (Jane) Lavite, Gary Lavite, and Daniel Lavite; his daughters, Elizabeth A. Castro and Jennifer Lavite; his grandchildren, Matthew, Austin, Sal, Sophia, Jenna, Ryan, and Sammy Lavite Jr., Melissa Dale, Maximillian, Morgan, Zachary, and Jacob-John Castro, Nicholas Shewmake, and Brian Reader; his great-grandchildren, Gavin Lavite and Lauren and Lillian Dale; his godson, John "Pugan" Stimac; his brothers, Frank (Donna) Lavite, Anthony Lavite, Joseph (Madelyn) Lavite, and John (Susie) Lavite; and his former wife, Sue Eisenman; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Salvatori A. Lavite, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Salvatori Lavite as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
