SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Anthony "Tony" Michael Rose, who tragically passed away on June 30, 2013 while fighting the Yarnell Hill Fire in Arizona; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Rose was a resident of Beach Park before moving to Arizona to live with his uncle and family friend, Dan Hicks; while in Arizona, he became a dispatcher for his local fire department; after living in Arizona for a few years, he joined the Granite Mountain Hotshots team; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Rose enjoyed skateboarding, fishing, and riding dirt bikes and ATVs; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Rose is survived by his fiancee, Tiffany Hettrick; his parents, Michael Sperry and Athena Rose Sperry; his brother, Alexander Sperry; and his sister, Rhonda Sperry; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Rose's great courage and determination will be remembered fondly by his loving family, his fellow firefighters, and the citizens of our nation; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Anthony "Tony" Michael Rose; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Anthony Rose as an expression of our sympathy.
