SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William Joseph Thorsen of Gurnee, who passed away on June 28, 2013; and

WHEREAS, William Thorsen was born on July 31, 1928, in North Chicago to Joseph and Martha Thorsen; and

WHEREAS, William Thorsen was a member of Holy Family in North Chicago; he was President of the school board, District 64, and belonged to the Holy Rosary Society; and

WHEREAS, William Thorsen was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jean (nee Madigan); and

WHEREAS, William Thorsen is survived by his children, Lawrence (Pauline), Sharon (Chuck) Bishop, Jon (Laura), and Patrick (Connie); his special friend, Betty Schulz; his grandchildren, Christine (Ryan) Scott, Jamie (Eric) Patmor, Meghan Bishop, Michael (Kristy) Bishop, Phillip Lomeli, Alyssa, Neil, Ryan, Justin, and Austin Thorsen; and 5 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William Joseph Thorsen, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Thorsen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
