SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Betty Kessinger of Carlinville, who passed away on June 23, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Betty Kessinger was born on July 15, 1923, in Carlinville to Herbert and Hulda (nee Young) Hammann; she graduated from Carlinville High School and married Hayden B. Kessinger on April 28, 1946, in Carlinville; and

WHEREAS, Betty Kessinger was a homemaker and a partner with her husband in the family farming operation; and

WHEREAS, Betty Kessinger was active in various church activities and a member of the Carlinville Area Hospital Auxiliary and the Home Bureau; and

WHEREAS, Betty Kessinger was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister; and 3 brothers; and

WHEREAS, Betty Kessinger is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Jim) Pickett and Linda Kessinger; her grandsons, Matthew (Cori) and Michael Pickett; and her great-grandsons, Caleb and Connor Pickett; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Betty Kessinger, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Betty Kessinger as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
