SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald Mansfield Cox of Alton, who passed away on January 15, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Donald Cox was born on August 23, 1946, in Saint Louis, Missouri, to Norval and Amanda Butler Cox; and

WHEREAS, Donald Cox served in the U.S. Army; he retired from Olin Corporation in 2003 after 38 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Donald Cox was active in the community with the Knights of Columbus of Alton; he was a board member of the Alton Nursing and Rehab Center and a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church; and

WHEREAS, Donald Cox was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Amanda Maltida Cox; and

WHEREAS, Donald Cox is survived by his brothers, Norval M. Jr., Leo C., and Samuel H. Cox; his sister, Barbara E. (Curtis) Weeden; his nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Everett Talley; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Donald Cox, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald Cox as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
