SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Peter A. Lentine of Gurnee, who passed away on February 24, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Peter Lentine was born on November 19, 1934, in Waukegan to Dominick and Anna (Zarlinga) Lentine; he grew up in Waukegan and graduated from Waukegan Township High School; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 3 years and fought in the Korean War; he was discharged in 1956 with the rank of sergeant; and

WHEREAS, Peter Lentine retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company after nearly 30 years of service; he served as Waukegan city alderman for 12 years; he married Cassandra Stone in 1987 and was married for 25 years; and

WHEREAS, Peter Lentine was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joseph; and his grandson, John Michael Walczak Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Peter Lentine is survived by his wife, Cassandra; his son, Perry Lentine (Heather Mason); his daughters, Juliann May, Gina Lentine, Lisa (John) Walczak, Rhonda (Bob) Naylor, Christie (Pete) Commons, and Lori (Jim) Volpentesta; his brother, William (Patricia) Lentine; his sister, Linda (David) DeRue; his sisters-in-law, Renea (Bill) Wiley and Resha (Doug) Ballance; his 12 grandchildren; and his 2 great-granddaughters; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Peter Lentine, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Peter Lentine as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
