SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John W. Draper Jr. of Granite City, who
4passed away on March 23, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Draper Jr. was born on December 29, 1936, in
6Madison, to John W. Sr. and Esther (Murdach) Draper; he married
7Linda L. Pate on August 29, 1958, in Madison; and
 
8    WHEREAS, John Draper Jr. retired in 1994 from Granite City
9Steel after 40 years of dedicated service as a millwright; and
 
10    WHEREAS, John Draper Jr. was a member of the Granite City
11Masonic Triple Lodge No. 835, Elks Lodge No. 1063 in Granite
12City, and Sons of the American Revolution; he enjoyed playing
13sports, making wine, gardening, canning, golfing and fishing;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, John Draper Jr. was preceded in death by his
16parents; his sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Harry Smith;
17and 2 brothers-in-law, Keith Chrisman and Robert Krause; and
 
18    WHEREAS, John Draper Jr. is survived by his wife, Linda;
19his sons, John Draper III and Jim Draper; his grandchildren,
20Jimmy Draper, Justin A. Draper, John W. Draper IV, and Emily

1Draper; his sisters, Colleen Krause and Glenda Chrisman; one
2brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Delores Draper; and other
3extended family and friends; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6John Draper Jr., and we extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of John Draper Jr. as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
