SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of H.J. Croff, who passed away on March 16,
42013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, H.J. Croff was born on November 16, 1922, in
6Sledge, Mississippi; his parents were Randle Croff and Lena
7Houston; he married Silverlean Singleton on December 31, 1980;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, H.J. Croff worked as a ship builder in Oakland,
10California during World War II; he later went to Chicago, where
11he worked at General Motors as a welder; his career spanned 33
12years before he retired; and
 
13    WHEREAS, H.J. Croff was preceded in death by his parents;
14his wife, Silverlean; his brother, Roudorye; his sister, Willa
15Eva; his daughters, Mary, Georgia (Fred), Carol, and Jametrius;
16and his son, Michael; and
 
17    WHEREAS, H.J. Croff is survived by his children, Dorothy
18Jean (Elliot), Christine, Linda, Deborah (Dee), Delores,
19LaShorage (Eric), Comanica, LaTonya (Tim), and Kylyn; his 29
20grandchildren; his 16 great-grandchildren; his
21great-great-grandchild; his life-long friends, Mr. Carey, Mr.

1Scott and Mr. Valentine; his dear cousin, Marian Elder; and his
2many other family members and friends; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5his family and friends, the passing of H.J. Croff; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of H.J. Croff as an expression of our
9sympathy.
