SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald A. "Uncle Don" Barrows of North Chicago, who passed away on October 7, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Donald Barrows was born on August 23, 1932; his parents were Vincent and Theresa Barrows; and

WHEREAS, Donald Barrows retired from the North Chicago Police Department at the rank of sergeant after many years of service; in his later years, he was an entrepreneur; and

WHEREAS, Donald Barrows was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Leon and Bob; and a sister, Patricia Thiel; and

WHEREAS, Donald Barrows is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy; 2 stepsons, Joe Culat and Mike (Jan) Culat; 2 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Jack (Mary Ann) Barrows; and 2 sisters, Eileen Smith and Joanne (Chester) Chase; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Donald A. "Uncle Don" Barrows; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald Barrows as an expression of our sympathy.
