SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of David C. Whipple, who passed away on November 9, 2014; and

WHEREAS, David Whipple was born on September 6, 1947 in Alton; his parents were Wallace and Elsie (nee Webb) Whipple; he married Pamela J. Simpson on May 27, 1995 in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; and

WHEREAS, David Whipple retired after many years of service as a Detective for the Alton Police Department; and

WHEREAS, David Whipple was the President for the Alton Eagles, Fraternal Order of Eagles 254, for 2 years; he helped build the 911 System as the head coordinator for Madison County from 1991 to 2002; he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus-Godfrey Council 7804, the Alton-Wood River Sportsmen's Club, the National Emergency Number Association, and the Fraternal Order of Police; and

WHEREAS, David Whipple enjoyed golf, baseball, and spending time with his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, David Whipple was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, David Whipple is survived by a daughter, Allison (Nash) Poindexter; a son, Matthew Whipple; 2 brothers, Jack (Virginia) Russo and Donald Whipple; and a sister, Vickie (Danny) Swain; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of David C. Whipple; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of David Whipple as an expression of our sympathy.
