SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Thomas P. Bell of Oak Park, who passed
4away on August 6, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tom Bell was born on May 11, 1963 in North Kansas
6City, Missouri; he grew up in Liberty, Missouri, where he
7graduated from Liberty High School; he received his bachelor's
8degree from the Kansas City Art Institute and subsequently
9moved to Chicago to work in advertising; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After 15 years working at a variety of companies,
11including Enesco, the Mobium Creative Group, and Publicis/Hal
12Riney, he went back to school and received his Masters in
13Education from National Lewis University in 2008; he went on to
14teach art at St. Giles School in Oak Park for 6 years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Tom Bell is survived by his wife of 18 years,
16Kelly Twohig, and their 12-year-old twin sons, Sean and Seamus;
17his parents, Dwayne and Carol; his sister Jane Poe, and
18brothers, Mike (Julie) and Brandon (Melanie); he was the
19cherished son-in-law of Pat and Gloria Twohig; beloved
20brother-in-law of Brian (Ellen), Pat, Tim (Beth), Erin (Brian)
21Obert, and Kate Twohig (Adam Ochsenschlager); the devoted uncle
22to Laura Poe, Jordan, Tyler, Leah, Reese and Brooklyn Bell,

1Maura, Molly, Colleen, Sam and Joe Twohig, Ian and Keira Obert,
2and Gabriel and Elise Ochsenschlager; he is also survived by
3aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends from Liberty,
4Missouri who were his beloved brothers; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Thomas P. Bell, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Thomas Bell as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
