SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charles W. Kocher, Jr. of McHenry, who
4passed away on September 26, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Kocher, Jr. was born in Chicago on June
627, 1935 to Charles W., Sr. and Caroline (nee Bell) Kocher; he
7married Jeanne Annette Koegel in Chicago on April 28, 1956; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Charles Kocher, Jr. was a transportation
9specialist in the civil service for the United States military
10for many years, where he worked at missile sites in and around
11the Chicago area; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Charles Kocher, Jr. was a train enthusiast and
13enjoyed model trains and train museums; he enjoyed fishing,
14camping, and traveling with his family all over the United
15States; he also enjoyed Ansel Adams black and white landscape
16photography; he served in the Illinois National Guard for a
17number of years and was a leader in the Boy Scouts for 5 years
18with his children; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Charles Kocher, Jr. was preceded in death by his
20parents and a great-grandchild, Wesley; and

1    WHEREAS, Charles Kocher, Jr. is survived by his wife of 58
2years, Jeanne; his children, Charles William "Skip" (Daphne)
3Kocher, Joseph Gerard (Vishiel) Kocher, Gerri Lynn Peot, Carol
4Patrice Kocher, and Donna Marie (John) Noegel; grandchildren,
5Christopher Kocher, Brian (Jenny) Alshanski, Scott Alshanski,
6Kristen Alshanski, Joanna (Eric) Gueller, Matthew Peot, Emily
7Peot, Christine Peot, and Madeline Kocher; and
8great-grandchildren, Ryan, T.J., Dylan, Kara, Gram, and Henry;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Charles W. Kocher, Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to
13his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Charles Kocher, Jr. as an expression
17of our deepest sympathy.
