SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John Benjamin Affinito of McHenry, who passed away on August 23, 2014; and

WHEREAS, John Affinito was born on June 18, 1929 in Italy; his parents were Antonio and Assunta (nee Sessa) Affinito; he married Gina A. Passaro on September 19, 1959 in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, John Affinito was a resident of Hebron from 1976 until moving to McHenry in 1990; he worked as an x-ray technician for over 30 years at McHenry Hospital and Memorial Hospital for McHenry County; and

WHEREAS, John Affinito enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching the Chicago Bears, and gardening; and

WHEREAS, John Affinito was a member of St. Mary's Church in McHenry, where he also served as an usher; he previously attended Christ the King Church in Wonder Lake; and

WHEREAS, John Affinito was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Anna Ditore; and

WHEREAS, John Affinito is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gina; 2 children, John C. (Barbara) Affinito and Linda (Brian) Anderson; 5 grandchildren, Erica (Dane) Kalisek, Julia Affinito, Nicholas Affinito, Gina Anderson, and Jason Anderson; a brother, Clement Affinito; and a sister, Dora (Vincent) Argentino; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of John Benjamin Affinito; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Affinito as an expression of our sympathy.
