SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William "Bill" Ferwerda of Harvard, who passed away on September 1, 2014; and

WHEREAS, William Ferwerda was a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War; after being honorably discharged from the Navy, he married Joanne Crone on January 27, 1962 in Harvard; and

WHEREAS, William Ferwerda was employed as a carpenter and brick layer; and

WHEREAS, William Ferwerda was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Ferwerda; a brother, Garrett Ferwerda; and a niece, Judy; and

WHEREAS, William Ferwerda is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Joanne; a brother, Peter Ferwerda; a niece, Leslie (Don) Adkins; a sister-in-law, Pauline (Gerry) Willoughby; a brother-in-law, William (Susan) Crone; 15 nieces and nephews, Don (Val) Adkins, Boe (Kasey) Adkins, Brittany (Michael) Russel, Deanne (Chris) Saals, Todd (Jackie) Rankins, Rodney (Diana) Rankins, Sean (Lynnea) Rankins, Diane (Paul)Willoughby-Butorac, Todd (Megan) Crone, Ted (Mariann) Cadieu, Linda (John) Willoughby-Keller, David (Olga) Cadieu, Scott Cadieu, Amy (Steve) Bevilaqua, and Meg (Anthony) Haughan; and several great-nieces and great-nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of William "Bill" Ferwerda; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Ferwerda as an expression of our sympathy.
