SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ann L. Silk of Johnsburg, who passed away
4on September 7, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ann Silk was born on August 13, 1938 in Chicago to
6Joseph and Victoria (nee Donati) Krawiec; she married Frank
7Silk, Sr. on June 15, 1957 in Chicago; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Prior to retirement, Ann Silk was a valued
9associate of Arlington Industries of Libertyville and also of
10Drieske Florist of Wheeling; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ann Silk was a great cook, a doting grandmother,
12an avid shopper and fashion expert; cruises with her husband,
13Frank, were a favorite activity and she especially enjoyed the
14Alaska cruises; she also loved to entertain and had a big
15heart, always willing to help her fellow neighbors and friends;
16her circle of friends included several ladies calling
17themselves "the golden girls"; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ann Silk is survived by her husband of 57 years,
19Frank; 4 children, Dawn Silk, Joyce (Peter) Becker, Frank Jr.
20(Lisa) Silk, and Vicki (Robert) Silk-VanOrmer; 9
21grandchildren, Nicole and Joseph Steinman, Joseph and Meghan

1Becker, Frankie and Ava Silk, Lucas, Matthew, and Sydney
2VanOrmer; a great-grandchild, Baby Paul; and her life-long
3friend, Lorraine Guerino; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Ann L. Silk, and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
7friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Ann Silk as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
