SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ann L. Silk of Johnsburg, who passed away on September 7, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Ann Silk was born on August 13, 1938 in Chicago to Joseph and Victoria (nee Donati) Krawiec; she married Frank Silk, Sr. on June 15, 1957 in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Prior to retirement, Ann Silk was a valued associate of Arlington Industries of Libertyville and also of Drieske Florist of Wheeling; and

WHEREAS, Ann Silk was a great cook, a doting grandmother, an avid shopper and fashion expert; cruises with her husband, Frank, were a favorite activity and she especially enjoyed the Alaska cruises; she also loved to entertain and had a big heart, always willing to help her fellow neighbors and friends; her circle of friends included several ladies calling themselves "the golden girls"; and

WHEREAS, Ann Silk is survived by her husband of 57 years, Frank; 4 children, Dawn Silk, Joyce (Peter) Becker, Frank Jr. (Lisa) Silk, and Vicki (Robert) Silk-VanOrmer; 9 grandchildren, Nicole and Joseph Steinman, Joseph and Meghan Becker, Frankie and Ava Silk, Lucas, Matthew, and Sydney VanOrmer; a great-grandchild, Baby Paul; and her life-long friend, Lorraine Guerino; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ann L. Silk, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ann Silk as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
