SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Walter William Stapleton of Waukegan, who passed away on August 29, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Walter Stapleton was born on November 8, 1937 in North Lake, Wisconsin and became a Waukegan resident in 1970; and

WHEREAS, Walter Stapleton was a Vietnam War veteran; he retired from the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant and then worked at Great Lakes Naval Base as a computer operator; and

WHEREAS, Walter Stapleton was a member of the Winthrop Harbor Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Moose Club; and

WHEREAS, Walter Stapleton is survived by 4 children, John (Michele) Stapleton, Joseph (Cathy) Stapleton, Denise (Jason) Hardt, and Courtney (Keith) Stapleton; 4 sisters, Geraldine Drews, Elvira Kopshinsky, Joann (Bob) Webb, and Charlotte Spengler; 12 grandchildren, Annaliza, Cordelle, Anastiza, Keith, LaKierra, Jessica, Alexis, Jason, Jr., Amanda, Caitlin, Justin, and Camille; 2 great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Vanessa; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Walter William Stapleton; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Walter Stapleton as an expression of our sympathy.
