SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Luke A. Sloman of Girard, who passed away on August 2, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Luke Sloman was born on July 8, 1986 in Springfield; his parents were Rick and Pam (nee Nichols) Sloman; and

WHEREAS, Luke Sloman graduated from Girard High School in 2004; and

WHEREAS, Luke Sloman was employed with Senator Deanna Demuzio's campaign and at Ameren Temp Services; and

WHEREAS, Luke Sloman loved all sports, including soccer, baseball, and golf; and

WHEREAS, Luke Sloman was a member of Oak Leaf Country Club and spent most of his time playing golf until he was unable to play anymore; he looked forward to playing cards and watching the golfers from inside the clubhouse in recent years; he was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox fan; and

WHEREAS, Luke Sloman is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Betty Sloman, and an uncle, Rusty Sloman; and

WHEREAS, Luke Sloman is survived by his parents; a brother, Ryan (Sarah Hazelwood); 2 sisters, Kelsey (Kyle Dillon) and Kristin (Taylor Hays); 3 nieces and nephews, Brenna, Hadley, and Carter Sloman; his grandparents, Neal and Ruth Nichols; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Luke A. Sloman; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Luke Sloman as an expression of our sympathy.
