SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Roman F. "Ray" Stygar of Crystal Lake, who passed away on June 28, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Roman Stygar was born on July 28, 1922 in Chicago; his parents were John and Sophia Stygar; he married Rita Marie Faucher on October 8, 1949; and

WHEREAS, Roman Stygar served his country as a member of the United States Coast Guard from 1942 until 1946 and was a recipient of a Purple Heart; and

WHEREAS, Roman Stygar worked as a machinist for 31 years at General Dynamics and for 7 1/2 years at Ford until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Roman Stygar was a member and a former Grand Knight of the Wonder Lake Christ The King Knights of Columbus; and

WHEREAS, Roman Stygar was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rita; 4 sisters-in-law; and a brother-in-law; and

WHEREAS, Roman Stygar is survived by 10 nieces and nephews, Ed (Nancy) Stygar, Richard (the late Renee) Stygar, Jimmy Weimeyer, Tim Styger, Thomas (Jean) Zolik, George Weimeyer, David Michellotto, Anthony Michellotto, and Margaret and Joanna Weimeyer; 6 great-nephews, Thomas (Rose) Stygar, Edward III (Sheila) Stygar, Randall (Michelle) Stygar, Anthony Stygar, Richard Stygar, and Timothy (Janet) Stygar; 3 great-nieces, Barbara (David) Doak, Joanne Rordeau, and Michelle (Bill) Mandich; and a sister-in-law, Susan (Leo) Michellotto; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Roman F. "Ray" Stygar; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Roman Stygar as an expression of our sympathy.
