SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Megan K. Blenner, who passed away on June
428, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Megan Blenner was born on August 12, 1986 in
6Hoffman Estates; her parents were Tom and Peggy (nee DeWane)
7Blenner; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Megan Blenner graduated from St. Viator High
9School in 2004; she was a member of the National Honor Society,
10the basketball team, and the 2003 IHSA championship soccer
11team; she subsequently graduated from Carroll University in
122008, where she was an All-Academic and All-Conference player
13who competed in basketball and soccer and won the Midwest
14Conference Championship Tournaments in both sports; she also
15studied at Northwestern University and was working to complete
16her CPA certification at the time of her passing; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Megan Blenner began her career at Zurich North
18America in the associate program immediately upon graduating
19college, learning the major areas of insurance in various
20locations throughout the United States; she most recently
21served at Zurich as a financial analyst; her various positions
22at Zurich allowed her to travel the world, which she deeply

1treasured; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Megan Blenner was a member of the Junior League of
3Chicago, the Illinois CPA Society, and Zurich's Women's
4Innovation Network; she worked as a volunteer at PAWS in
5Lincoln Park and other various charities; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Megan Blenner enjoyed reading, helping others,
7and spending time with her family and friends; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Megan Blenner was preceded in death by her
9grandparents, William and Lois Blenner and Bernard and Arlene
10DeWane; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Megan Blenner is survived by her parents, Tom and
12Peggy Blenner; 2 sisters, Kelly and Jamie Blenner; and many
13loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
16family and friends, mourn the passing of Megan K. Blenner; and
17be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Megan Blenner as an expression of
20our sympathy.
