SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James "Jim" M. Gardner, Jr. of Macomb,
4who passed away on July 1, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Gardner, Jr. was born on February 28, 1951
6in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; his parents were James M. and
7Theresa A. (nee McDonald) Gardner; he married Carol R. Chadem
8on September 22, 1973 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and
 
9    WHEREAS, James Gardner, Jr. devoted his life to work and
10family; he was the proud owner of the Red Ox Restaurant and
11Lounge and enjoyed working with his employees and visiting with
12his loyal customers; and
 
13    WHEREAS, James Gardner, Jr. was a member of the Macomb Elks
14Lodge #1009 and the Jaycees; and
 
15    WHEREAS, James Gardner, Jr. was a passionate Philadelphia
16sports fan, especially for the Philadelphia Eagles; he was also
17an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time with his friends at
18Gold Hills Golf Course; and
 
19    WHEREAS, James Gardner, Jr. was preceded in death by his
20parents; and

1    WHEREAS, James Gardner, Jr. is survived by his wife, Carol;
22 children, Jim (Misty) Gardner and Jenny (Jason) Robinson; 3
3grandchildren, Mya and Luke Gardner and Samuel Robinson; a
4sister, Theresa (John) Rosiak; an aunt, Ann "Bucky" Clements;
5and 5 nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
8family and friends, mourn the passing of James "Jim" M.
9Gardner, Jr.; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of James Gardner, Jr. as an expression
12of our sympathy.
