SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James "Jim" M. Gardner, Jr. of Macomb, who passed away on July 1, 2014; and

WHEREAS, James Gardner, Jr. was born on February 28, 1951 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; his parents were James M. and Theresa A. (nee McDonald) Gardner; he married Carol R. Chadem on September 22, 1973 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, James Gardner, Jr. devoted his life to work and family; he was the proud owner of the Red Ox Restaurant and Lounge and enjoyed working with his employees and visiting with his loyal customers; and

WHEREAS, James Gardner, Jr. was a member of the Macomb Elks Lodge #1009 and the Jaycees; and

WHEREAS, James Gardner, Jr. was a passionate Philadelphia sports fan, especially for the Philadelphia Eagles; he was also an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time with his friends at Gold Hills Golf Course; and

WHEREAS, James Gardner, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, James Gardner, Jr. is survived by his wife, Carol; 2 children, Jim (Misty) Gardner and Jenny (Jason) Robinson; 3 grandchildren, Mya and Luke Gardner and Samuel Robinson; a sister, Theresa (John) Rosiak; an aunt, Ann "Bucky" Clements; and 5 nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of James "Jim" M. Gardner, Jr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James Gardner, Jr. as an expression of our sympathy.
